Jang Wonyoung Becomes the Face of Harper’s Bazaar’s Launch Issue
IVE’s Jang Wonyoung has made headlines once again, this time by appearing on the cover of Harper’s Bazaar’s debut edition. Released on July 10 and 11, the exclusive August issue featured a dazzling collaboration between Jang and the Italian luxury fashion brand Miu Miu.
The Youngest Cover Star in Magazine History
Since 2021, Jang Wonyoung has been an ambassador for Miu Miu, leaving a significant mark in both fashion and entertainment. At just 18 years old, she already made history by becoming the youngest-ever model to grace Harper’s Bazaar’s cover.
The ‘Human Miu Miu’ in Full Bloom
Showcasing Miu Miu’s 2025 Fall/Winter collection, Jang flawlessly pulled off a variety of styles—from a youthful and lovely look to an ice-cold elegance dubbed the “Ice Princess” concept. The visual transformation turned heads, embodying the dreamy and sophisticated aesthetic the brand is known for.
Her Philosophy on Positivity and Perseverance
In the accompanying interview, Jang discussed her viral phrases ‘Lucky Vicky’ and ‘Wonyoung-style mindset.’ She shared, “I’ve realized that effort always comes back in some form, like a boomerang. If the results don’t show, it just means the timing isn’t right yet.”
Her positive mindset shone through as she added, “It’s better to think, ‘My efforts must be sprouting somewhere right now’ rather than get discouraged.”
The Story Behind ‘Lucky Vicky’
Jang selected the line “Even if I bump around, luck is always on my side” from IVE’s 3rd mini-album title track “ATTITUDE” as her favorite lyric. She revealed that ‘Vicky’, her childhood English name, is inspired by Victoria, the Roman goddess of victory. “My mom named me that so I’d always win—and now people call me ‘Lucky Vicky.’ Isn’t that amazing?” she laughed.
“Since kindergarten, I’ve always said, ‘Lady Luck is on my side.’ I believe words have power, so no matter what happens, luck is bound to find its way to me,” Jang said with a radiant smile.
IVE at Lollapalooza Berlin
Meanwhile, Jang and her group IVE are set to make K-pop history by becoming the first girl group ever invited to perform a solo stage at Lollapalooza Berlin. The highly anticipated performance will take place on July 12 (local time) at the Olympiastadion in Berlin, with a 55-minute set expected to showcase the group’s global impact.
