Son Taejin Dominates July Netizen Awards With 61.7% of Votes

Son Taejin leads July’s Netizen Awards for 'Best TV Personality' with an overwhelming majority, highlighting his popularity across entertainment genres. Meanwhile, middle-rank contenders are in a tight race.

Son Taejin retains top spot with massive lead

In the July edition of the Netizen Awards for ‘Best TV Personality,’ Son Taejin is once again proving his dominance. As of 9:17 PM on the 13th, he had secured 9,995 votes, accounting for a remarkable 61.7% of total ballots cast, firmly placing him at the top of the leaderboard.

This marks another consecutive win for Son Taejin, who continues to thrive with his seamless navigation between classical performances and variety entertainment. The strong support from his fanbase—particularly their organized voting efforts—has solidified his status as a major force in Korean broadcasting.

Trailing behind: Gi-an84 and others battle for second

Coming in second is Gi-an84, who garnered 1,626 votes (10.0%), thanks to his quirky appeal and regular appearances on variety shows. However, with a gap of over 8,000 votes behind Son Taejin, a dramatic upset seems unlikely. Instead, Gi-an84 is more focused on holding his position high in the rankings.

In third place is Joo Woojae, with 1,351 votes (8.3%). Known for his witty remarks and natural broadcasting flair, Joo has steadily raised his popularity by appearing on various shows.

Mid-tier turbulence: The real competition starts here

Meanwhile, Lee Chanwon (942 votes, 5.8%) and Yoo Jaesuk (899 votes, 5.6%) are neck and neck in the fourth and fifth positions, respectively. Yoo Jaesuk maintains his legendary status as Korea’s ‘National MC,’ while Lee Chanwon continues to draw fans through his dual roles in music and TV.

In sixth place, Kang Hodong sits comfortably mid-pack with 587 votes (3.6%), while Lee Seunggi, Dex, and Jang Doyeon are close behind with vote shares ranging from 1.4% to 1.5%.

Can the lower-ranked contenders make a surprise push?

Rounding out the top ten is Lee Ikyung, who received 76 votes (0.5%). While the gap may be sizeable, the upcoming summer vacation season could shake up the rankings as more viewers engage with variety shows and their favorite stars.

The July competition is shaping up to be a one-man show led by Son Taejin. Still, the skirmish among middle-tier contestants adds suspense to the final outcome. As the last phase of voting kicks off, fans are keeping a close watch—who will finish on top when the curtain falls?
