Rising Idols Score Music Show Victories
K-pop boy group CLOSE YOUR EYES—composed of Jeon Minwook, Ma Jingxiang, Jang Yeojoon, Kim Sungmin, Song Seungho, Kenshin, and Seo Kyungbae—has secured two music show wins with their first comeback.
The group claimed first place on MBC M’s ‘Show! Champion’ on July 16 with their title track Snowy Summer from their second mini-album of the same name.
Two Wins in Two Days
Just a day earlier, on July 15, CLOSE YOUR EYES also won on SBS M’s ‘THE SHOW’. This marks an impressive milestone as the group earned four music show awards within just three months of debut. They previously won on their sixth day post-debut with All the Poems and Novels Inside Me.
Idol-MCs Celebrate On-Air Victory
Members Jeon Minwook and Jang Yeojoon, currently serving as the ninth-generation MCs of ‘Show! Champion’ since May, joyfully announced their own group’s win live on air, flashing bright smiles during the reveal.

During their acceptance speech, the group addressed their fandom, CLOSER, with gratitude: “Thanks to CLOSER, we were able to win first place on ‘Show! Champion.’ We love and thank you all, whether you came out early in the morning to support us or watched from home.”

Snowy Summer Charts Big
Released on July 9, the mini-album Snowy Summer sold over 200,000 copies on launch day alone, exceeding 300,000 sales overall—surpassing the group’s previous record. It also topped Hanteo Chart’s real-time and daily physical album rankings, placed No. 2 and No. 5 on Circle Chart’s retail album chart (photo card and standard versions respectively), and cracked the iTunes K-pop Top 10 in five countries.
A Icy Fantasy for a Summer Comeback
The title track ‘Snowy Summer’ is a warm house-style pop R&B song that playfully contrasts the imagery of snow and summer, creating a whimsical fantasy. The music video, which features the members acting as ghosts in a fun storyline, surpassed 22.76 million YouTube views within a week of release.
