Yves Gets Emotionally Glitchy in Upcoming EP ‘Soft Error’

K-pop soloist Yves teases two new tracks from her upcoming EP 'Soft Error,' diving into emotionally charged electronic soundscapes that blur the line between human vulnerability and digital distortion.

The Glitch Is the Emotion

Former LOONA member and rising solo artist Yves is diving even deeper into her moody, electronic aesthetic. On May 31, Yves dropped a sleek album spoiler for her third EP titled Soft Error, giving fans a taste of two tracks: “Do you feel it like i touch” and “Study.”

Spoiler Alert: Feelings Incoming

In the short preview, both songs show Yves at her most experimental. “Do you feel it like i touch” layers distorted vocals over minimal electronic beats. The result? A soundscape that feels like it’s glitching on purpose — hazy, haunting, and oddly intimate. Dressed in all black, Yves stares deadpan at the camera in the track’s teaser image, evoking a cool detachment that mirrors the song’s robotic yet emotional feel.

When Studying Emotions Fails

The second song, “Study”, explores emotional burnout — that sad, empty space when trying to logically process feelings just… fails. It melds icy synths with a disorienting aesthetic: Yves holds a digital camera to her face in the jacket image, blending technology and human perception. It’s a visual metaphor for the EP’s central theme — the fragility of human emotions in a digital world.

‘Soft Error’: More Than a Technical Glitch

The EP’s title, Soft Error, plays on the concept of something that looks fine on the outside but is malfunctioning within. Yves is clearly using that metaphor to unpack the blurry relationship between emotion and disconnection. Featuring six tracks across various genres — including the double title track “White cat” — the record promises to showcase a more evolved Yves, both vocally and thematically.

Mark Your Calendars

‘Soft Error’ drops August 7 at noon KST on major streaming platforms. Fans can expect a rich tapestry of synths, storylines, and soft chaos — brought to life by one of K-pop’s most intriguing soloists. Yves isn’t just making music—she’s crafting digital poetry with a heartbeat.
