Jeong Seo-joo Leads August Netizen Awards as Kazuha Climbs Fast

As the Netizen Awards heat up this August, Jeong Seo-joo dominates the Female Artist category, while rising stars like Kazuha and trot singers shake up the mid-ranking spots.

Jeong Seo-joo Holds Strong in First Place

The Netizen Awards 2025 are reaching their mid-August milestone, and the race in the Female Artist category is heating up. At the top, Jeong Seo-joo is holding an iron grip on first place. As of August 5th, 5:16 PM KST, she has racked up an impressive 9,285 votes, accounting for 42.4% of the total—an overwhelming lead that’s fueling even more fan engagement.

2nd Place Battle: Bin Ye-seo vs. My Jin

The real drama lies in the runner-up battle between Bin Ye-seo and My Jin. Bin currently holds second place with 3,998 votes (18.3%), while My Jin isn’t far behind with 3,806 votes (17.4%). With only a 192-vote gap, it’s a nail-biter that could flip overnight.

Kazuha Surges into the Top 5

Making headlines of her own, Kazuha of LE SSERAFIM is rising like a rocket. From finishing at No. 12 in July to grabbing the 5th spot with 781 votes (3.6%), her upward momentum is a sign that K-pop idols are starting to shake up a category largely dominated by trot singers.

Other notable names include Kim Da-hyun in 4th place with 944 votes (4.3%), while Yang Ji-eun, Song Ga-in, and Kang Hye-yeon are battling it out in the 6th to 8th tier. Artists like Jeon Yoo-jin, Hong Ji-yoon, Hong Ja, and Miss Kim follow closely behind, proving this category is anything but settled.

Trot vs. Idol: Genre Diversity on Display

This year’s awards are seeing a compelling genre twist. While trot—the traditional Korean pop music genre with a retro vibe—still reigns among many contenders, Kazuha’s climb signals a fresh breeze of genre diversity. Fans from fandom-heavy idol groups are now entering a space traditionally popular among older demographics.

Will Jeong Seo-joo Maintain Her Crown?

The question everyone is asking: can Jeong Seo-joo maintain her dominance through August? Her lead is commanding, but with so much activity in the mid-tier rankings, it’s clear nothing is set in stone. As voting continues, unexpected reversals could be just around the corner.
