Hwang Youngwoong Takes Commanding Lead in August Netizen Awards

Hwang Youngwoong is dominating the August Netizen Awards male singer poll, securing a massive lead early in the race, while the rest of the top five scramble for position.

Hwang Youngwoong Leads August Netizen Awards with 42.5%

As of 10 a.m. on August 9, trot singer Hwang Youngwoong is cruising ahead in the male vocalist category of the August Netizen Awards, capturing a staggering 25,914 votes—amounting to 42.5% of the total.

With a lead of over 18,000 votes compared to the runner-up, Hwang seems comfortably planted on his throne for now. The voting continues through the end of the month, but unless there’s a major surprise, he’s eyeing another win—and maybe even another trip to the 100K club.

Second Place Battle Is a Nail-Biter

The competition for the second through fifth slots, however, is a different story—think reality show suspense levels. Son Taejin is currently in second place with 7,719 votes (12.7%), but not far behind is Park Jihyun, who’s closing the gap with 6,127 votes (10.0%).

Even tighter is the face-off for fourth place. Jang Minho and Enoch are essentially in a photo finish, separated by just seven votes—4,303 (7.1%) to 4,296 (7.0%). Don’t blink, or you’ll miss the leaderboard flipping overnight.

Middle Tier Heats Up

Things aren’t calm in the mid-ranks either. Singers like Jinwon (2,667 votes), Hong Isaac (2,234), and Park Changgeun (1,951) are duking it out in a tight, under-3K cluster. Trailing behind are Jeong Dongwon, Park Seojin, and Seo Youngtaek, still pushing for visibility as the month continues.

Will August Repeat July’s Streak?

With the voting deadline still weeks away, fans are watching closely: Can Hwang Youngwoong once again join the ‘100K club’ and pull off a five-time crown as he did last month? Or will the underdogs rally late for an epic twist?

One thing’s for sure—this is more chessboard than scoreboard. And every fan vote counts.
