Ye Ji-won Says Your Gut Is Smarter Than Your Mirror

Korean actress Ye Ji-won brings humor and wisdom to gut health while co-hosting JTBC's Saturday morning show 'The Incredible Body'.

Gut Health, but Make It Funny

On the latest episode of JTBC’s ‘The Incredible Body’, airing on the morning of September 9, actress and host Ye Ji-won got real—and hilarious—about gut health. With over 100 trillion microbes living inside us, the show zoomed in on how our digestive system affects everything from energy levels to immune strength.

“Good Bacteria Only, Please!”

“Turns out you need to manage your gut like your social circle. Keep the good bacteria close!” joked Ye Ji-won, dropping lines like a wellness guru with a sitcom script. She didn’t stop there: “If you’re tired all the time, maybe it’s not your liver—it’s your gut saying help!”

A Weight Loss Journey Rooted in Probiotics

One segment followed Kang Young-mi, a woman in her 50s, who shed 23 kg (about 51 pounds) after battling osteoporosis, joint pain, and prediabetes. Her secret weapon? BNR17 probiotics, a supplement aimed at reducing bad bacteria and rewiring the gut for health and weight loss.

Ye Ji-won was visibly impressed. “Real weight loss starts in your gut,” she said. “Your gut knows the glow-up before your mirror does. If your gut’s smiling, you’re smiling!”

Gut Talk Turns Savage (In a Fun Way)

As always, Ye Ji-won’s banter with co-host Lee Ki-ho brought laugh-out-loud moments. When she likened gut flora to your inner friend circle, Lee jokingly asked where he stood. Without missing a beat, Ye fired back, “You’re bad bacteria!” Cue the studio laughter.

When & Where to Watch

‘The Incredible Body’, blending science with sass, airs every Saturday at 8:55 AM KST on JTBC. Ye Ji-won brings both charisma and a dose of educational comedy to help viewers rethink what it means to live healthy—from the inside out.
