Girl Group MEOVV Puts a Bold Spin on a K-pop Classic
If you thought rookie idols couldn’t own a legendary track, think again. Rising girl group MEOVV just dropped an electrifying dance practice video of their stylish take on Brown Eyed Girls’ iconic hit ‘Abracadabra’, and it’s setting fan hearts ablaze.
Dark Outfits, Sharp Moves, MEOVV Style
On May 19, MEOVV’s agency, The Black Label, shared the video on their official social media platforms. Dressed in matching sporty black outfits, the five members—MiYao, Suin, Gawon, Anna, Narin, and Ella—delivered a flawless performance filled with intensity and confidence. Their fierce expressions and synchronized moves made it feel more like a live stage than a studio session.
A KCON Highlight That Had Fans Buzzing
The cover wasn’t a random drop. MEOVV recently took the stage at KCON LA 2025, held from August 1 to 3. Alongside performing their own double title tracks ‘Hands Up’ and ‘Drop Top’ from their debut EP ‘MY EYES OPEN VVIDE’, the group wowed the audience with their edgy reinterpretation of the 2nd-gen bop ‘Abracadabra’.
Originally released by Brown Eyed Girls back in 2009, ‘Abracadabra’ is famous for its sultry concept and iconic hip-swaying dance. MEOVV’s version kept the essence intact but added their own chic, Gen Z flair—think less moody diva, more confident cool-girl energy.
Fan Reactions? Spellbound.
The newly released practice video is being praised for its stage-like intensity. Fans are especially impressed with how committed the members are during rehearsal. “This doesn’t even feel like a practice—it’s a full-on performance!” commented one fan.
Needless to say, MEOVV’s bold charisma and polished choreography are putting them on the fast track to becoming K-pop’s next it-girls.
What’s Next for MEOVV?
With their powerful debut and viral cover already under their belt, MEOVV is planning to keep the momentum going. The group is expected to continue promotions and showcase more of their distinct sound and personality in upcoming stages.
Brace yourselves, K-pop world—MEOVV isn’t casting spells, they’re making moves.
