Rei’s ‘Music Bank’ Moment Is Here
IVE’s Rei, often dubbed the ‘it girl’ of Gen Z in Korea, is stepping up to the mic as a special MC on KBS2’s ‘Music Bank’ today, June 29, at 5:05 PM KST. According to her agency Starship Entertainment, the fan-favorite idol will co-host the live music show—and yes, she’ll also hit the stage with her bandmates to perform their latest track ‘XOXZ’, released on June 25.
The Signature Charm of Rei
Since her debut, Rei has melted hearts and sparked trends with her instantly recognizable signature poses—like ‘Ribbon Peace,’ ‘Kongsuni,’ and the adorably squishy ‘Chapssaltteok pose’ (a sticky rice cake reference fans eat up).
Rei’s not just about cute poses though. Her playful ‘kawaii’ editing style on social media—known in Korean as ‘sakoo’, short for picture decorating—has struck a major chord with Gen Z followers. Earlier this year, her ultra-viral ‘Attitude’ challenge (nicknamed the ‘rampaging guinea pig’ challenge) proved her trendsetting power once again.
