BOYNEXTDOOR Cancels Bangkok Concert After Earthquake in Myanmar
BOYNEXTDOOR has canceled their upcoming concert in Bangkok, originally scheduled for March 29, following a powerful earthquake in Myanmar that also impacted surrounding regions, including Thailand.
Concert Canceled in Wake of Natural Disaster
On March 28, KOZ Entertainment, the agency behind the rising K-pop group, made the announcement that the Bangkok stop of the group’s first-ever Asia tour, KNOCK ON Vol.1, would no longer take place. The decision was made out of growing safety concerns after the earthquake and its aftereffects were felt in Thailand.
Agency Prioritizes Safety of Fans and Team
In an official statement, KOZ Entertainment emphasized that their top priority is the safety of fans, artists, and staff. The agency expressed deep regret to fans who had eagerly anticipated the show and promised to update them soon regarding ticketing and cancellation procedures.
“Due to the current situation, the BOYNEXTDOOR TOUR ‘KNOCK ON Vol.1’ in Bangkok, scheduled for March 29 (Saturday), has been canceled, as we are taking the safety of the audience, artists, and staff as our top priority,” the agency noted.
“We sincerely apologize to the many fans who were looking forward to the Bangkok show, and we ask for your generous understanding.”
All Artists and Staff Safe
KOZ Entertainment also reassured fans that all the BOYNEXTDOOR members and staff are safe and taking necessary measures to return home. Details concerning refunds and further instructions will be announced separately.
The agency concluded their message by extending condolences to everyone affected by the earthquake and praying for safety and a swift recovery.
Fans Show Support Amid Disappointment
Although many fans expressed their initial disappointment, social media has since been flooded with messages of support for the group’s decision. Safety and compassion, fans agree, must come first.
