Pengsoo Takes the Lead in the Celeb Category
As of 10:46 AM on April 12, Pengsoo, the beloved character creator, is soaring to the top of the Celeb category in the 2025 April Netizen Awards with 1,466 votes, securing a commanding 48.4% share. Nearly half of all votes have gone to Pengsoo, reaffirming their status as Korea’s ‘national character.’
Trailing behind, travel creator Pani Bottle comes in second with 805 votes (26.6%), while Dex follows with 590 votes (19.5%). The significant gap between Pengsoo and the runners-up makes an upset unlikely. Other nominees like Hibap (2.3%) and Choo Sung-hoon (1.6%) are currently occupying the lower ranks.
Son Taejin Dominates the On-Air Category
Meanwhile, crossover singer Son Taejin is sweeping the On-Air category with a massive 8,584 votes, capturing 63.7% of the total. This puts him over 7,000 votes ahead of second-place Kian84 (1,361 votes, 10.1%), solidifying his position as a favorite among viewers.
Other familiar names include trot singer Lee Chanwon (966 votes, 7.2%), veteran MC Yoo Jaesuk (901 votes, 6.7%), and TV personality Kang Ho-dong (622 votes, 4.6%). Dex rounds out the top six with 539 votes (4.0%), showing his versatility across entertainment platforms.
