UNIS Serves Up Sweet and Spicy Vibes with New Mini Album 'SWICY'

UNIS Brings Bold Flavors to K-pop with ‘SWICY’

On May 15, K-pop girl group UNIS held a media showcase at YES24 Live Hall in Seoul’s Gwangjin District to celebrate the release of their second mini album ‘SWICY’.

The album title, a blend of “sweet” and “spicy,” reflects Gen Z’s love for unexpected and bold combinations. As fitting representatives of their generation, UNIS channels this trend musically, presenting a dynamic mix of flavors through their signature charm.

A Five-Track Journey Through Sweet and Spicy Sounds

The title track ‘SWICY’ leads a five-song lineup that includes ‘From the Seed Called “What are you doing?”’, ‘DDANG!’, ‘Good Feeling’, and ‘Spring Rain’. Each track highlights the members’ dual appeal—both lovable and sassy—capturing the “sweet and spicy” contrast referenced in the album title.

‘SWICY’ itself stands out with its upbeat rhythm, playful arcade-like sound effects, and catchy lyrics. Using food metaphors to describe their unpredictable charm, the eight members showcase a vibrant side that fans are sure to find irresistible.

Bright Concept with Bubbly Energy

Compared to their previous work, the group has returned with a noticeably brighter concept. Complementing the cheerful composition is a school-themed look that suits the members’ youthful energy, adding visual sweetness to their spicy sound.

“The new concept is much brighter—it really represents our personalities,” one of the members shared during the showcase.

With this fresh release, UNIS continues to grow as trendsetters in K-pop, delivering music that resonates with a global audience craving flavor-filled fun.

‘SWICY’ Now Available

UNIS’s second mini album ‘SWICY’ dropped at 6 p.m. KST on May 15 across all major streaming platforms.

If you like your music as bold as your taste buds, you might just find yourself craving another listen.
