BOYNEXTDOOR Become First K-pop Ambassadors for FIVB Global Event
On September 12, BOYNEXTDOOR made history as the first K-pop group to perform as global ambassadors for the FIVB Men’s Volleyball World Championship. The opening ceremony, held at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Manila, ended with a high-energy performance that had the crowd on its feet.
From Arena Lights to Fans’ Voices
Even before the music started, the vibes were electric. Fans waved official light sticks and homemade banners, cheering loudly as the group’s name flashed on LED screens. The entire arena came alive when the crowd began singing “Earth, Wind & Fire,” the title track from the group’s second mini-album, HOW?
Setlist That Ignited the Crowd
The group performed several fan-favorite tracks, including “I Feel Good” from their fourth EP No Genre and “Nice Guy” from their third EP 19.99. But it was when “Earth, Wind & Fire” returned—with “I LOVE YOU (Just for Today),” their debut digital single—that the energy hit peak levels. Fans danced, sang, and mimicked the boys’ choreography like they were part of the group.
Words of Unity (and a Volleyball Metaphor)
After the performance, the members took a moment to thank the crowd. “To share this stage with people from around the world in a place full of passion and challenge—it’s an honor,” they said. “Like a volleyball team moves with timing and trust, we rely on each other on stage. Whether on the court or under the spotlight, passion is what makes us shine.”
What’s Next for BOYNEXTDOOR?
The boys aren’t resting on their laurels. With a new comeback slated for October, they’re already working hard to outdo themselves—again. Considering each release has marked a new career high, October’s drop might just level-up K-pop energy even more. Stay tuned, BOND (that’s what fans call themselves)!
