Japanese Hitmaker Ado Celebrates Five Years with Korean Fans
Get ready, Seoul—J-pop powerhouse Ado is making a grand entrance. To mark her fifth debut anniversary, Ado is opening her first-ever global pop-up store outside Japan right in the heart of Korea. From June 20 to 26, fans can visit TheSameE Insa branch in Seoul to experience an immersive celebration of her musical journey.
Ado Pop-Up: Not Just Merch, But a Fan Experience
Operated by YG PLUS in collaboration with Universal Music Japan, this Seoul pop-up highlights Ado’s explosive rise—first ignited by her viral 2020 hit “Usseewa,” and later cemented with “New Genesis,” her contribution to the One Piece Film Red soundtrack.
What’s inside the pop-up? Fans can explore:
- Voice messages from Ado just for Korean fans
- A listening zone to sample her discography
- A photo zone featuring 3D showcases of iconic album jackets
- A LETTER BOX to send messages directly to the artist
Exclusive Seoul-Only Merch Drops
Of course, it wouldn’t be a pop-up without must-have merch. Around 40 items—originally released in Tokyo—will be available, alongside nine exclusive Seoul-only collectibles designed just for local fans.
After kicking off in Tokyo’s Universal Music Store Harajuku on August 28, the “Ado 5th Anniversary POP-UP STORE” is currently touring five Japanese cities, with Seoul proudly becoming its first global stop. More international cities are expected soon.
YG PLUS: Backing J-Pop’s Global Push
“Ado is a true J-pop icon and a rising global star,” said a YG PLUS rep. “Her past five years have been stellar, and the future looks even brighter.” The company also teased future collaborations with international artists, leveraging its growing expertise in global IP branding.
A Moment for J-Pop in Korea
In a K-pop-dominated landscape, the success and warm reception of Ado show that cross-cultural fandom is thriving. With K-pop fans always hungry for bold vocals and rich storytelling, Ado’s intense performance style is striking a powerful chord beyond borders.
