The Truth Behind the Vietnam Trip
But according to their agencies, the trip was far from a romantic rendezvous. In a statement on June 20, Kim You-jung’s agency Artist Company cleared the air: “After confirming with her, we can say the dating rumors with Kim Do-hoon are completely false. The trip to Nha Trang, Vietnam was not a couple’s vacation. It was a post-filming group trip with the ‘Dear X’ drama team.”
They added that the photos were misleadingly cropped to show only the two actors, when in fact several staff members and even the director, Lee Eung-bok, were present. Kim Do-hoon’s agency backed up the same story.
The Drama That Started It All: Dear X
Kim You-jung and Kim Do-hoon recently wrapped filming the upcoming TVING original series Dear X. The dark revenge drama follows Baek Ah-jin (played by Kim You-jung), a woman who hides behind masks to escape her past and climb her way out of personal hell—while the people she crushed on her way up, the so-called ‘X’s,’ plot their own reckoning.
The project also brought the cast, director, and crew close—hence the team bonding trip to Vietnam after the cameras stopped rolling.
Still in the Spotlight
Both actors recently appeared at the 30th Busan International Film Festival (BIFF), sparking fan excitement and media coverage. It seems their on-screen chemistry from Dear X might have been a little too convincing—at least to the internet.
As of now, both stars are single, focused on work, and clearly have no time for love triangle rumors…unless it’s in the script.
