A Wild Debut at Hanyang University

Jay Park knows how to make an entrance—but this time, he handed the spotlight to someone else. On June 19, at the Hanyang University Seoul campus festival, fans were treated to more than just his usual fiery performance. In a plot twist straight out of a teen K-drama, Park introduced his brand-new boy group LNGSHOT—and no one saw it coming.

LNGSHOT’s Secret Premiere

With zero teasers, no official member reveals, and no prior performances, LNGSHOT’s debut was a surprise drop that even the most die-hard stans didn’t predict. “We were just screaming for Jay… and then boom—LNGSHOT shows up,” one audience member posted on X (formerly Twitter).

This sneak peek marks the group’s official stage debut, and fans are already trying to decode every second of their set. Who are these guys? Where’s the fandom name? When’s the debut date? Luckily, Jay spilled one key detail: LNGSHOT is set to debut in January 2025.

After the show, Park took to Instagram, dropping photos of the members and tagging LNGSHOT’s new official account. He also added cheeky hashtags like #itsalngshotbutwelltakeit and #middlefingertothenorm—a not-so-subtle flex against the cookie-cutter K-pop formula.

Park hasn’t been shy about his ambitions to shake up the industry. LNGSHOT is the first idol group under his label MORE VISION, launched in 2022. The lineup? Four members: O Yul, Ryul, Woojin, and Louie. And if their stage energy is anything to go by, they’re not here to play it safe.

A New Kind of Boy Group?

Jay Park is known for blurring lines between rapper, CEO, and provocateur. So, it’s no surprise that LNGSHOT seems ready to challenge the norm. With mystery-filled teasers at other college festivals and an edgy reveal strategy, Park is clearly ditching the traditional K-pop playbook.

Will LNGSHOT follow in the footsteps of 2PM and AOMG? Or are they carving their own lane entirely? January can’t come soon enough.

What’s Next?

For now, all eyes are on Park’s next move—and whether LNGSHOT will live up to the hype. One thing’s clear: Jay Park just gave the new generation of K-pop a serious mic drop moment.
