On June 21, representatives from King Kong by Starship confirmed that veteran actor Song Seung Heon‘s mother has passed away. The actor is currently starring in the Genie TV original drama My Lovely Boxer—but scheduled appearances and interviews have now been canceled out of respect for his mourning.

Funeral Details Shared by Agency

The funeral is being held at Samsung Seoul Hospital, Room 17 of the memorial hall. His mother’s procession is scheduled to take place at 9:30 AM on June 23.

Song Seung Heon is currently playing the role of Dokgo Chul, a police officer turned celebrity manager, in My Lovely Boxer, a Genie TV original series streaming on U-NEXT in Japan. The drama has been gaining attention both domestically and overseas amid the Hallyu wave.

The actor had a wrap-up interview for the drama lined up for June 25. However, in light of this sudden family tragedy, his management has officially canceled the event.
