EXO’s Sehun Celebrates Discharge with Fans, Teases Comeback Plans

After nearly two years of military service, EXO’s maknae (youngest member) Sehun is finally back—and he didn’t waste a second reconnecting with fans.

Welcome Back, Sehun

On September 21, just one day after officially wrapping up his alternative military service, Sehun appeared on a live broadcast via the fan community platform Weverse. He was joined by fellow EXO members Suho, Chanyeol, and Kai, marking his first public appearance since enlistment began in December 2023.

“Hello, everyone. This is Sehun from EXO,” he began. “I’m nervous and feeling a bit awkward, but I’m really happy to see all of you today.” With a bright smile, he greeted EXO-Ls (EXO’s fandom name) and shared his first post-discharge move: grabbing a curry lunch and calling his members. Because priorities.

Chanyeol, Kai, and Suho then stepped in with flowers, cake, and a chorus of celebration, officially welcoming their youngest back into the fold. Sehun made a birthday-wish-style speech before blowing out the candle: “I hope everyone—our members, our fans, and everyone here—stays healthy and happy.” Emo meter: off the charts.

No More Military Hiatus for EXO

With Sehun completing his service, every EXO member has now fulfilled their military duty—the long-dreaded gunbaekgi (a military-related hiatus) is finally over. “We never thought this day would come,” the members reflected, visibly touched. It’s a milestone moment for the group, who debuted over a decade ago in 2012.

What’s Next? Album, Fan Meeting, and Concerts

EXO didn’t leave fans hanging. During the livestream, the group teased some serious comeback plans: a new album drop, a fan meeting during the Christmas season, and a full-fledged concert tour planned for 2025. Cue the global scream of EXO-Ls.

In early September, EXO’s official social media accounts posted a cryptic teaser image with the phrase, “WHEN WE BECOME TRUE ONE, A NEW WORLD AWAKENS,” alongside the text “DECEMBER 2025.” Many fans now believe that a December comeback is locked and loaded.

With Maknae Sehun’s return, the group is back in full force, and anticipation is sky-high. After juggling solo careers and military schedules, EXO is ready to become “one” again—and the K-pop world is watching.

The Takeaway

Sehun’s comeback isn’t just a personal return—it marks a new chapter for EXO as a whole. As the group gears up for a busy 2025, one thing’s clear: the kings are back, and so is the noise. Are you ready for EXO 2.0?
