A Fresh Trio Takes Over ‘Inkigayo’

Brace yourselves, K-pop fans—SBS’s beloved music show ‘Inkigayo’ is hitting refresh with three new faces at the helm. EJ from &TEAM, Shinyu from TWS, and current MC Leeseo from IVE are teaming up to bring a whole new vibe to Sunday afternoons.

Who’s Who: Meet Your New MC Dream Team

EJ, the charismatic leader of &TEAM, has already made waves with a million-seller debut in Japan and is poised to shine even brighter in Korea. Known for his positive energy and stage presence, EJ is expected to show fans a more playful, never-before-seen side on the mic.

Shinyu, the fresh-faced center of 5th-gen boy group TWS, returns after impressing producers with his spontaneity and charm as a special MC. His stint on Inkigayo’s digital segment, where he was dubbed the “MC intern,” proved he’s more than just another pretty face.

And of course, Leeseo from IVE isn’t going anywhere. After 17 months of steady hosting, she’s ready to mix things up with her new co-hosts and showcase a dynamic chemistry (or “kemi,” as Korean fans say).

Producers Predict Sparks Will Fly

According to the Inkigayo production team, “EJ and Shinyu, who we’ve playfully nicknamed ‘first-love visuals,’ will shine as next-gen leaders.” They’re hyped about the synergy this trio will bring, noting their mix of experience, energy, and visual appeal.

What’s Next?

The refreshed lineup will officially debut on Inkigayo sometime in October. Meanwhile, look out for EJ making waves with &TEAM’s upcoming Korean debut and Shinyu continuing to charm both fans and producers alike. With Leeseo as the glue holding it all together, Sunday music shows just got a lot more exciting.

So K-pop fans, who’s your favorite new MC?
