SEVENTEEN Duo Teams Up with Instagram for a K-pop First

S.COUPS and Mingyu, one of SEVENTEEN’s hottest sub-units, made K-pop history this week—teaming up with Meta’s Instagram for an offline listening party to unveil their debut mini-album, HYPE VIBES. Held in the trendy Hannam-dong area of Seoul, the private event brought out over 100 guests, including producers, fellow artists, and yes—other SEVENTEEN members.

Party Like a K-pop Star

The celebration wasn’t your typical album sneak peek. With DJ BUMZU spinning behind the booth, the atmosphere was more rooftop club than press release. The moment S.COUPS and Mingyu showed up, the energy went from cool to electric.

“We’re honestly nervous—it’s our first listening party,” confessed S.COUPS. Mingyu added, “We just want everyone here tonight to feel like friends. Enjoy the music!”

‘HYPE VIBES’ Is a Vibe for Every Moment

From the sleek retro groove of the title track “5, 4, 3 (Pretty Woman)” feat. Lay Bankz—which pays homage to Roy Orbison’s eternal classic—to high-energy and introspective bangers, every track plays like a musical diary of everyday life, with fans breaking into singalongs during the preview.

S.COUPS and Mingyu didn’t just lend their vocals—they played a major role in lyric writing and composing, making sure each track reflects their personality and taste.

Instagram x K-pop: A Meta Milestone

Meta isn’t new to innovation, but this marks the first time its platform Instagram has co-produced a real-world K-pop event. And clearly—it delivered. The buzz spilled onto social media, with the duo’s new challenge hitting over 70 million views on Instagram Reels in just a few days.

What’s Next for S.COUPS & Mingyu?

HYPE VIBES officially drops on June 29 at 6PM (KST), but the duo is already giving fans bonus content. Mingyu made a surprise cameo in S.COUPS’ YouTube cooking series, “COOKS COUPS,” on June 20. Up next, the two appear on the web variety series “Salon Drip 2” on June 23, followed by a pop-up event in Yongsan on June 30 to celebrate the album drop.

From setting new records on social to redefining what a debut looks like, S.COUPS and Mingyu are riding their own hype wave—and fans are more than ready to surf it.
