KickFlip Kicks Off New Era with Fresh Love-Powered Vibes

Rising K-pop group KickFlip officially flipped the switch on their comeback this week, holding a showcase on April 22 at Seoul’s YES24 Live Hall to celebrate the launch of their third mini-album, My First Flip.

“My First Love Song” Hits with Funk and First-Crush Feels

The title track, “My First Love Song,” is a dance-pop number built on synth-driven funk and guitar riffs. It captures that heart-thumping moment of a first confession — all sung with KickFlip’s signature youthful energy. Think of it as your high school diary, but with flashier outfits and sharper choreography.

JYP’s Advice? Grow Your Strengths

Executive producer Park Jinyoung (a.k.a. JYP) made sure to lend words of encouragement to the group. Member Gehun shared, “JYP told us that while this comeback is important, what really matters is identifying what makes KickFlip unique—and growing that.” No pressure, right?

Big Goals: Music Show Wins and Stage Presence

When it comes to goals, KickFlip isn’t playing small. “Our dream is to take first place on a music show,” said Gehun. Donghyun echoed that ambition, adding, “If we win with this love song, I want to hold a bouquet during our encore stage. Total rom-com vibes.”

Donghwa shared his pride in the group’s creative input: “All the members contributed to this album. That was our internal goal, and we pulled it off. I’m really grateful.”

Juwan added with a smile, “Through this promotion, I hope we become known as the group that people have to see on stage—a real ‘stage matchip.’” (FYI, matchip refers to must-visit spots, usually for food, but here it’s about their performances being irresistible!)

Missing Member Amal: “We’re Waiting for You”

Sadly, Japanese member Amal had to sit out this comeback due to health issues. His absence was deeply felt. “It’s honestly heartbreaking not having Amal with us,” said Donghyun. “Our fans miss him, and so do we. We’ll work hard to fill his space until he returns healthy and smiling.”

While the group’s newest chapter is filled with high hopes and heart-pounding tracks, fans are also rallying behind Amal, sending him waves of support online. One fan commented, “We’ll wait however long it takes — KickFlip is six members, always.”

The Flip Side: What’s Next for KickFlip?

Between honest goals and energetic performances, KickFlip’s comeback feels like a true restart—and fans are already playing My First Love Song on repeat. Whether they hit number one or not, they’ve already flipped some hearts.
