New Track, New Drama: aoen’s ‘MXMM’ Chosen as Theme Song

Watch out, J-pop fans—rookie sensation aoen is on a serious winning streak. Their latest single ‘MXMM’ (pronounced “Maximum”) has been confirmed as the official theme song for the upcoming Japanese drama “Oishii Rikon Todokemasu” (“We Deliver Delicious Divorce Papers”), premiering across the Chukyo TV and Nippon TV network this October 1.

A Playful Soundtrack to Bittersweet Breakups

Already teased in the drama’s first trailer—now live on TVer and the official websites—the song brings a burst of quirky charm to an otherwise emotional storyline. ‘MXMM’ channels the rush of unrequited love with a blend of powerful beats and cheeky, surreal lyrics. It’s a soundtrack for your most awkward crush…with a beat drop.

Behind the scenes, the lyrics were penned by Ume, who wrote aoen’s debut single ‘The Blue Sun’, while the track was composed by hitmaker NILD, known for his work with NCT WISH and NEXZ. Basically: this isn’t your average love song—it’s genre-bending pop with bite.

Viral Appeal Built In

The track’s addictive contrast—sassy lyrics over a sleek synth track—is tailor-made for TikTok and Reels. Fans can also expect a playful performance to match, designed to crack smiles and ignite trends across social media.

Who Is aoen Anyway?

aoen exploded onto the scene this June with their debut single ‘The Blue Sun’, nabbing first place on the Oricon Daily Singles Chart by June 15. Just two weeks later, they scored a coveted Gold certification for the release—no small feat for a new boy group.

Since then, the group has hit all the right notes—performing at major music shows and appearing at high-profile events like the 41st Mynavi Tokyo Girls Collection 2025 AUTUMN/WINTER on September 6. Next up? A slot at the Rakuten GirlsAward 2025 AUTUMN/WINTER on October 18.

From Debut to Dominance

In just a few months, aoen has gone from chart rookies to drama headliners. With ‘MXMM’ poised for drama fame and a loyal fanbase growing by the minute, they’re clearly not slowing down.

Could ‘MXMM’ be the viral bop that cements aoen’s status as J-pop’s next crossover stars? All signs point to yes. Stay tuned.
