Another Scandal for Lee Jin-ho
Korean comedian Lee Jin-ho, already under scrutiny for alleged illegal gambling, has found himself in deeper trouble—this time for drunk driving.
According to a statement released by SM C&C on June 24, Lee admitted to the offense. “After confirming with the individual, we can state that he did operate a vehicle under the influence earlier this morning,” the agency said. He is currently undergoing investigation and awaiting legal consequences.
No Excuses, Just Apologies
Lee is said to be cooperating fully and has shown “deep remorse” for his actions. “There are no excuses. He accepts full responsibility and will follow any legal rulings,” the statement added, alongside the company’s formal apology to the public.
Behind the Wheel at 3 A.M.
The incident occurred around 3 a.m., when Lee reportedly drove from Incheon to Yangpyeong in Gyeonggi Province while intoxicated. Police received a tip and, with help from regional authorities, apprehended Lee in Yangpyeong. His blood alcohol level clocked in at 0.11%—well above the legal limit for license revocation in South Korea, which is 0.08%.
Legal Troubles Keep Piling Up
Unfortunately for Lee, this isn’t his only run-in with the law. He is also being investigated for placing illegal bets, a scandal that had already tarnished his public image. Earlier stories linked him to high-profile online gambling communities, allegedly involving other celebrities.
What’s Next for the Embattled Comedian?
With public trust eroding and back-to-back controversies, Lee Jin-ho’s entertainment career is hanging in the balance. For now, all signs point to legal fallout—possibly on multiple fronts.
Can Lee bounce back from this double-hit of scandal, or is this the final curtain for his comedic career?
