From Theater Roots to K-Drama Fame
Park Jia began her acting journey in the theater troupe ChaiM and made her film debut in 2002 with The Coast Guard. Over the decades, she built a diverse portfolio, leaving her mark in thrillers like Gonjiam: Haunted Asylum and dark dramas like OCN’s The Guest.
But for global audiences, she’s best known for her chilling and emotional turn as Jeon Mi-hee—Moon Dong-eun’s troubled mother—in the Netflix hit The Glory. Fans remember her as a scene-stealer despite limited screen time, delivering a raw, haunting performance.
Final Works, Lasting Legacy
Park’s final years were a whirlwind of creativity. She appeared in titles like Netflix’s Mask Girl (also known as Tangum), ENA’s Salon de Holmes, and films like Hijack and The Fruit of Evil. Right up until her passing, she continued to pour herself into every role.
Her last project, Salon de Holmes, aired its finale this July. The production team honored her memory, sharing, “She was endlessly humble and gave everything for each shoot. We’ll carry her name—and her laughter and tears—with us always.”

In emotional tributes, Park Jia’s younger brother expressed gratitude to castmate Yum Hye-ran, who stayed by the actress’s side throughout her hospital stay. When she was laid to rest on October 2, 2023, many from the entertainment world came to say goodbye—proof of how deeply respected she truly was.
