Celebrating Hallyu Excellence in Seoul
The 2025 Korea Hallyu Entertainment Awards took place on July 5th at the Parliamentary Hall in Yeouido, Seoul. The event honored key figures in the Korean Wave (Hallyu), recognizing their influence across film, dramas, and music.
Major Award Winners
Actress Ye Ji-won took home the Asia Star Grand Prize for her outstanding performances that have captivated viewers across the continent. Woongsan, a renowned jazz vocalist, received the Asia Art Award in the jazz category, while trot singer Shin Sung earned the Popular Music Star Award for his widespread appeal.
Hallyu Contributors in Drama and Film
Writer Park Hae-young, known for K-dramas like My Mister and My Liberation Notes, was awarded the Korean Drama Contribution Grand Prize. Meanwhile, director Kim Han-min, behind the box office hit Roaring Currents, was recognized for his contribution to the Korean film industry.
A Star-Studded Night
The ceremony honored a variety of celebrities actively working across genres. Actors including Park Joon-geum, Hwang Seok-jeong, Moon Hee-kyung, Min Young-ki, Shin Sung-woo, and Kim Bo-sung were present.
