Jang Keun Suk and CRI-J Team Up for a Cause

Korean actor Jang Keun Suk is proving once again that he’s not just a star on screen, but in real life too. Along with his official fan club CRI-J, the longtime Hallyu icon donated 20 million won (around $15,000 USD) to support children with hearing disabilities.

A Birthday Photo Exhibit That Gives Back

The donation came from proceeds raised at the 2025 Jang Keun Suk Birthday Commemorative Photo Exhibition—an event that’s basically a love letter from fans to their idol. Held by CRI-J every year since 2013, the exhibition not only celebrates Jang’s year in the spotlight but channels fans’ passion into good deeds.

This year’s exhibition pulled in a whopping 103 million won (approximately $76,000 USD), with 20 million won earmarked for Snail of Love, a Korean nonprofit supporting children who need cochlear implants.

A Decade of Generosity and Counting

The impact? Two children will receive cochlear implants thanks to this year’s donation. And this isn’t a one-time act. Since 2015, Jang and CRI-J have donated a total of 276 million won (roughly $204,000 USD) to Snail of Love, helping 28 children regain their hearing and begin speech rehabilitation.

“We’re grateful that Jang Keun Suk and his fans continue this tradition of sharing year after year,” said CRI-J general secretary Na Hyun Sook. “Seeing children hear and speak for the first time brings us so much joy. We’ll keep paying it forward.”

More Than Just a Pretty Face

Lee Haeng Hee, president of Snail of Love, praised the group: “Thanks to Jang Keun Suk and CRI-J, children who are often socially isolated due to hearing loss now have the chance to dream and connect through sound.”

The duo were also featured in “Seoul – The Fan 2”, a recognition reserved for major supporters of the charity.

The Takeaway

Jang Keun Suk isn’t just a K-drama heartthrob—he’s also building a legacy off-screen, with CRI-J right beside him. From photo exhibits to life-changing donations, this fan-and-artist duo is turning fandom into fantastic good.

Will other fan clubs follow their example? If charity becomes the next Hallyu wave, we’re 100% here for it.
