In the April 2025 edition of the Netizen Awards, the ‘Grand Actor’ category saw fierce competition between seasoned veterans and rising talents. At the top of the list stood Jung Young-joo, earning 1,921 votes (27.7%) and claiming the No.1 spot for a record-breaking seventh month in a row.

Known for her commanding performances across both stage and screen, Jung has cultivated deep public trust over decades in the industry. Her continued dominance in the polls reflects not just fan appreciation, but respect from critics as well. It’s no exaggeration to say she’s the epitome of what it means to be a ‘grand actor.’

Jo Han-chul’s Quiet Ascent Captures Attention

Delivering the biggest leap this month was Jo Han-chul, who claimed second place with 1,137 votes (16.4%). Though usually known for his understated roles, Jo’s powerful screen presence and emotional depth have begun capturing wider attention. His recent performances have clearly struck a chord with audiences, turning praise into votes.

Veterans Maintain Strong Showings

Kim Won-hae secured third place with 870 votes (12.5%), thanks to his versatile acting and ability to embody a range of characters. Meanwhile, experienced stars like Choi Soo-jong (636 votes, 9.2%) and Uhm Jung-hwa (613 votes, 8.8%) rounded out the top five, proving they still hold sway with fans.

The top 10 was completed by Han Suk-kyu (5.1%), Chae Shi-ra (3.3%), Yoo Hae-jin (3.1%), Kim Gap-soo (2.7%), and Choi Min-soo (2.5%). Other fan-favorite names like Lee Byung-hun, Kim Jung-nan, Park Ji-young, Lee Il-hwa, and Chun Ho-jin followed close behind.

The rest of the top 20 included acting legends such as Kim Hye-soo and Lee Young-ae, along with familiar faces like Kang Ae-shim and Seol Kyung-gu. The wide range of ages and styles among the nominees highlights both the evolving tastes of viewers and the enduring appeal of veteran talent.
