Kim Mingue Returns After 18 Months in Uniform
He’s back! Kim Mingue, best known for stealing hearts in the hit K-drama Business Proposal, has officially completed his military service. On September 30, the actor announced his discharge and shared a heartfelt message with fans.
“Long If You Think Long, Short If You Think Short”
In true Kim Mingue fashion, the actor opened up about his journey. “It’s been a year and six months—a time that felt both long and short,” he wrote. After enlisting on April 1, 2023, he served actively in the South Korean Army and noted that while some moments were tough, the experience was ultimately rewarding.
He didn’t forget to thank the people who mattered most during that time: “I’m deeply grateful to the fans who waited for me with unwavering support, and to the seniors, juniors, and officers who helped me along the way.” He also added a salute to fellow soldiers still serving, sharing his “deepest respect and thanks.”
All Eyes on His Post-Military Projects
The 1994-born actor made his debut in the 2013 tvN series Monster. Since then, he’s built a solid portfolio with dramas like Signal, Because This Is My First Life, Perfume, and Snowdrop. But his real breakout moment came in 2022 with Business Proposal, SBS’s office romance that rocked the ratings—and international fan hearts.
Now with his uniform behind him and the red carpet ahead, Kim Mingue is ready to turn the page. “I’ll work hard to meet you again soon through a great project and an even better version of myself,” he promised fans.
