Nana Takes the Lead in a Quirky New Romance
Nana from the girl group WOOAH is diving headfirst into the K-drama world again—this time as the lead in Mirae’s Mirae, a fresh six-episode romantic sitcom set to premiere in the second half of the year.
What’s ‘Mirae’s Mirae’ About?
The title literally translates to “Mirae’s Future” and centers around a loveably awkward but emotionally sincere young woman, Gong Mirae—as played by Nana—trying to navigate love, family, and the ever-confusing modern life.
The drama is being dubbed a “hybrid situation rom-com”—think a Korean twist on something like Fleabag or New Girl, but with lots more emotional nuance and faster-paced dialogue. Alongside Nana, AB6IX’s Kim Donghyun will play the male lead, while actor Ko Gyu-pil—known for his scene-stealing humor—will take on the role of Mirae’s uncle.
Nana: Idol-Turned-Actress on the Rise
Nana’s not new to acting. She’s been building credibility with past roles in youth dramas like Mimicus, Campus Life, and The World Without You, where she was praised for her understated but heartfelt performances. In Mirae’s Mirae, she’s expected to deliver an emotionally textured performance that captures both the uncertainty and sincerity of Gen Z adulthood.
Her chemistry with Ko Gyu-pil, in particular, is already creating buzz. Insiders hint at unpredictable comedic timing between the two that could become one of the show’s breakout dynamics.
Coming Soon to a Screen Near You
Mirae’s Mirae is jointly produced by U+ MobileTV—a rising OTT platform in Korea—and Spring ENT, and begins filming this month. It’s set to stream exclusively on U+ MobileTV later in the year.
For Nana fans—or anyone craving a slice-of-life drama with charm, wit, and soft emotional punches—it’s one to watch.
