The Rise of a New Star: AHOF Shines Bright in Debut Week
Rookie K-pop boy group AHOF (Steven, Seo Jungwoo, Cha Woongki, Zhang Shuaibo, Park Han, JL, Park Juwon, Zeun, Daisuke) is off to a powerful start. Just seven days after debuting, they clinched their first music show victory on SBS funE’s The Show with their debut track “Rendezvous.”
On June 8, during their very first appearance on The Show, AHOF took home the top prize with “Rendezvous,” proving their rapid rise in the fast-paced world of K-pop. The moment was filled with raw emotion—some members shed tears while others looked stunned, overwhelmed by their sudden success.
Gratitude and Ambition
During their acceptance speech, the members expressed deep appreciation for their team and fans.
“We’re incredibly grateful to Chairman Kim Changsoo of F&F and CEO Choi Jaewoo of F&F Entertainment, along with everyone at our company who supports us day and night,” the group said.
They also added, “We never imagined we’d win in our first week. It’s truly an honor, and we’ll continue working hard to be a group that consistently tops the charts. We aim to enter the K-pop Hall of Fame.”
Stage Power: No Weak Links
Despite being emotional, the group showed stellar live performance skills during the encore stage. No pitch slips, no timing issues—just pure professionalism. Each member confidently delivered their parts, generating enthusiastic cheers from fans.
Record-Breaking Debut
AHOF’s debut album WHO WE ARE recorded over 360,000 copies sold in its first week—a record among rookie groups debuting this year, and the fifth-highest first-week sales of all time for a boy group.
Their digital presence is also on the rise. “Rendezvous” remains in 16th place on the Bugs weekly chart and debuted at #7 on Spotify Korea’s TOP 50. Furthermore, total streams for their debut tracks have already exceeded 2 million.
From Reality TV to K-pop’s Main Stage
Formed through SBS’s reality show Universe League, AHOF officially debuted on June 1. Embracing both the hope and anxiety of youth, their performances have captured global attention. Their album WHO WE ARE includes six tracks, each reflecting the members’ personal stories and emotions throughout their pre-debut journey.
What’s Next for AHOF?
AHOF plans to continue promotions with their debut single “Rendezvous.” According to the group, this is just the beginning.
In a world of fierce competition and rapidly changing trends, AHOF’s early success is a sign they’re a group to keep an eye on. With their talent and determination, they may soon be leading the next wave of K-pop stars.
