Jimin’s Quiet Tradition of Giving
BTS superstar Jimin is back at it again—with another generous scholarship donation that’s making waves in Korea’s education sector. On July 25, the Jeollabuk-do Office of Education announced that Jimin, through his father, donated ₩100 million KRW (roughly $75,000 USD) to its scholarship foundation. This marks the sixth consecutive year the K-pop idol has quietly financed students’ dreams behind the scenes.
How the Donation Happened
According to the office, Jimin’s father reached out in July and expressed his son’s intention to donate. The contribution was later wired to the Jeollabuk-do Love Scholarship Association—ensuring the funds go directly to students navigating difficult circumstances.
“We’re truly grateful for his warm act of sharing for the future of our children,” said acting Superintendent Yoo Jung-gi. “The scholarship will be carefully allocated to students who need it most.”
A Pattern of Purpose
Starting with his hometown of Busan in 2019, Jimin has selected a different regional education office each year to receive his scholarships, always donating ₩100 million. This isn’t a flashy PR stunt—it’s a quiet, consistent gesture from someone who knows what it means to chase a dream with limited resources.
Jimin: The Unsung Philanthropist
Jimin may dominate global music charts, but his legacy off-stage is building just as powerfully. In a fandom that values both talent and heart, he continuously proves he’s got plenty of both. Whether it’s topping Billboard or topping the list of Korea’s kindest donors, Park Jimin keeps surprising us—in the best ways.
