Jin Shines Globally with Solo Comeback
[CBC News] BTS member Jin is proving his star power once again as his latest solo release climbs up the global charts. His second mini album Echo has launched him to new heights, especially with its title track Don’t Say You Love Me debuting at No. 90 on the Billboard Hot 100—the main chart for singles in the United States.
A Third Billboard Triumph
This marks Jin’s third entry on the chart. He first made waves in 2022 with The Astronaut, landing at No. 51. In 2024, Running Wild from his debut solo album Happy followed suit, placing at No. 53. With Don’t Say You Love Me, Jin solidifies his position as a formidable solo artist—not just a member of BTS, but a charting artist in his own right.
Jin Dominates Digital Song Sales
The title track didn’t just land on the Hot 100—it topped the Digital Song Sales chart and placed fifth on the Global Excl. U.S. and seventh on the Global 200 charts. But perhaps even more impressive is Jin’s complete takeover of the World Digital Song Sales chart, where he clinched all top six spots. Tracks such as Nothing Without Your Love, Rope It, Background, Loser (feat. YENA), A Journey with the Clouds, and To Me Today all joined the title track to form an all-Jin top 6.
‘Echo’ Resonates on Billboard Album Charts
Echo also made its mark on album charts. The mini album debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200, making it Jin’s highest ranking solo album to date. It reached No. 1 on the World Albums chart and No. 2 on the Top Album Sales chart—an impressive feat for a solo project.
Notably, this is the first time any of Jin’s solo work has clinched the top spot on the World Albums chart, highlighting his growing global footprint.
BTS Members Continue to Chart
While Jin claims the spotlight, BTS’s other members aren’t far behind. Jimin’s second solo album MUSE has seen consistent success with the track Who placing 103rd on the Global 200, maintaining its position for 44 weeks. Meanwhile, Jungkook’s debut single Seven (feat. Latto) sits at 157th—a remarkable 96-week run. On the Global Excl. U.S. chart, Jimin and Jungkook’s songs also rank at No. 58 and No. 82 respectively.
More Than Just an Idol
Jin’s chart domination is a perfect mix of musical talent and unwavering support from his global fanbase. His evolution as a solo artist is just beginning, and fans around the world are eager to see what melodies and milestones he’ll bring next.
