Dragon Pony Puts Their Emotions on Full Display
The rising stars of Korea’s indie band scene, Dragon Pony (members: Ahn Taegyu, Pyeon Sunghyun, Kwon Sehyuk, and Ko Kanghoon), are back with a sneak peek of their emotionally-charged comeback. On June 24, the group dropped a moody teaser film featuring Kwon Sehyuk for their upcoming digital single, “Earth Boy”, via their official social media accounts.
Kwon Sehyuk’s Monologue Hits Home
In the teaser, Sehyuk walks alone through a dusky alley before leaning against a brick wall, exhaling as though weighed down by invisible burdens. Then comes the gut-punch: “I’m envious, I’m regretful, and it hurts. I just want to like myself.” It’s a line that feels torn straight from the pages of any twenty-something’s journal.
The mood film paints a picture of solitude, anxiety, and yearning—emotions that resonate deeply with anyone who’s ever questioned their place in the world.
An Anthem for Lost Youth
According to the band, “Earth Boy” was written during their trainee days. The song tells the story of a ship that’s lost its signal and now floats aimlessly through space—a metaphor for young people navigating life without a clear direction.
With this release, Dragon Pony doesn’t just showcase their musical growth—they also prove they’re unafraid to be vulnerable. Their sound is alternative rock with emotional storytelling at its core, and this single is shaping up to be their most personal work yet.
