The K-pop x K-Food Collab We Didn’t Know We Needed

ENHYPEN is bringing their flavor to more than just music. The rising K-pop group has just been announced as the first-ever global ambassadors for MEP, a new ramen line launched by Korean food giant Samyang Foods. Think fire noodles with flair, designed to heat up the global K-food craze.

What is MEP, Anyway?

MEP (short for “Made Expressively Perfect,” or maybe just “mega spicy”) is Samyang’s latest global brand, introduced at the end of 2023. Inspired by Korea’s signature spicy-meets-savory flavor palette, MEP aims to shake up the instant noodle game with inventive twists on comforting classics.

ENHYPEN + Ramen = Soulmates

Turns out, ENHYPEN are longtime ramen enthusiasts—like, legit recipe developers. Member Heeseung’s ‘Egg Cloud Ramen’, where soft egg clouds melt into the broth, made rounds on online communities and Twitter threads alike. So it makes sense for them to helm a brand that’s spicy, stylish, and a little unconventional.

Teasers Are In, and Fans Are Eating It Up

On May 27 and June 1, MEP dropped a teaser and full campaign video featuring ENHYPEN. The clips show the members munching, laughing, and living their best noodle lives—with a dash of cinematic flair. Their distinct personalities are woven into each scene, from slurp shots to slow-mo smiles.

“As the first global ambassadors of MEP, we want to leave a good impression and share its flavor with more people,” the group said. Translation: expect more viral ramen moments incoming.

What’s Next for the Collab?

Samyang says this partnership is just the beginning. “Working with ENHYPEN, who enjoy global acclaim, is a golden opportunity to introduce MEP to the world,” said a company rep. “We’re aiming for MEP to grow into the next big instant noodle brand, like Buldak did.” (FYI, Buldak is the infamous ‘fire noodle’ line that ranked up millions of YouTube challenges and memes.)

ENHYPEN Keeps Walking the Line

ENHYPEN isn’t slowing down. They’ve just wrapped their “WALK THE LINE” world tour stop in Singapore and are headed to Seoul’s KSPO Dome for a blockbuster encore concert from June 24 to 26. Tickets? Sold out faster than you can say “hot ramen.” Yes—even the partially obstructed seats.

With spicy ramen in one hand and microphones in the other, ENHYPEN is proving they’re a force in both music and marketing. Stay tuned—this partnership might just redefine what it means to be a global ambassador in the K-pop era.
