(G)I-DLE to Appear on NHK’s ‘Venue101’
[CBC News] K-pop powerhouse (G)I-DLE is stepping up their Japanese promotions with their first appearance on NHK’s flagship music program, Venue101, airing today (July 19) at 11 p.m. local time.
As one of Japan’s most influential TV music shows, Venue101 features prominent artists from around the world. (G)I-DLE—the five-member girl group consisting of Miyeon, Minnie, Soyeon, Yuqi, and Shuhua—will perform the title track Good Thing from their recently released 8th mini album.
More Than Just Performers: Self-Producing Idols
In addition to their live stage, the group will share insights into their creative process, highlighting their identity as self-producing idols. All members contributed to the lyrics and composition of the track, showcasing their musical authenticity and hands-on involvement.
Busy Year for (G)I-DLE in Japan
(G)I-DLE has been expanding its footprint in the Japanese market throughout 2025. In March, they wowed audiences as headliners at TV Asahi’s global music festival The Performance 2025 held at K Arena Yokohama. They also made a surprise live appearance on the popular Japanese morning show LOVE it!, marking their first live morning variety performance in Japan.
More to Come: Summer Sonic and Arena Tour
Looking ahead, the group is slated to take the main Marine Stage at SUMMER SONIC 2025, one of Japan’s biggest music festivals, this August. In October, they will hold their very first Japanese arena tour, offering local fans a chance to experience their electrifying performances in person.
With their momentum in Japan continuing to build, (G)I-DLE is solidifying their presence as global K-pop leaders while keeping their creative identity at the forefront.
