I-DLE Kicks Off New Era in Japan with First EP and Tour

K-pop girl group I-DLE is set to make their Japanese re-debut with their first EP under the new name. The release comes with a tour, new music, and skyrocketing local interest.

Meet ‘i-dle’: A Fresh Name, A Bold Start

After their official rebranding, K-pop powerhouse I-DLE (Miyeon, Minnie, Soyeon, Yuqi, and Shuhua) is ready to write the next chapter of their career—starting with Japan. On October 3, the group will drop their self-titled EP ‘i-dle’, marking their first Japanese release in five years and their first under the renewed name.

A Power-Packed Tracklist

The EP will include five tracks: three brand-new songs, plus Japanese versions of their mega hits ‘Queencard’ and ‘Fate’ (aka “나는 아픈 건 딱 질색이니까,” which roughly translates to “I Hate Being Sick”). Headlining the release is “What Should I Do (どうしよっかな)”, an emotional, catchy track written and composed by leader Soyeon herself—a signature I-DLE move that promises both hook and heart.

Three physical editions will be available, including a limited edition for devoted Neverlands (I-DLE’s fandom name).

Japan Tour: Game On

One day after their album drop, the group kicks off their first official tour in Japan. They’ll hit the Saitama Super Arena on October 4, followed by double dates at Kobe’s Glion Arena on October 18 and 19. Expect fan meets in Tokyo and Osaka, signings, and full-on promotional blitz.

Hype is Already Real

And Japan is here for it. I-DLE’s surprise appearance on TBS variety show “LOVE it!” in March had their name trending across Japanese social media. Just last month, their edgy performance on NHK’s “Venue 101” drew high praise for its live vocals and charisma overload.

Before It Even Begins: Festival Heat-Up

The girls will preview their new era at Summer Sonic 2025, Japan’s biggest music festival, held on August 16–17. Consider it a curtain-raiser for what’s gearing up to be I-DLE’s Japanese wave 2.0.

The Takeaway

I-DLE’s Japanese comeback isn’t just a regional promo—it’s a global Hallyu statement. With fresh music, sold-out arenas, and Soyeon’s pen game stronger than ever, I-DLE is poised to turn their rebranding into a full-blown renaissance.

Fans, are you ready to stan harder than ever?
