The Last Sparkle of Summer, Courtesy of K-pop’s Princess
While most of us were still mourning the end of summer, IVE’s Jang Wonyoung turned it into a photo op. On August 23, the K-pop idol lit up Instagram with a series of pictures taken in Japan, paired sweetly with the caption: “Goodbye, summer.”
Spoiler: She Looks Straight Out of a Manga
The photos show Wonyoung holding a melon almost the size of her face (visual queen things), flashing a playful wink, and basking in golden sunlight under a crisp blue sky. Whether she was smiling wide or casually posing, her pure-yet-refreshing charm practically radiated through the screen.
Fans? Completely Obsessed, As Usual
Within just an hour, her post racked up a massive 250,000 likes. Fans flooded the comments with everything from “You are my four seasons!” to “Your pictures healed my entire day.” And when some noticed she captioned her post in Japanese, they didn’t hold back the praise. “She really thinks about her Japanese fans—queen behavior,” wrote one user.
Backstage Diaries from ‘ROCK IN JAPAN’
Wonyoung also dropped some behind-the-scenes shots from IVE’s recent appearance at ROCK IN JAPAN FESTIVAL 2025, held on September 15 at Soga Sports Park in Chiba. The pre-stage selfies featured her signature doll-like visuals and had fans swooning all over again.
IVE’s Rock In Japan debut didn’t go unnoticed either. The group delivered a 10-song setlist, blending hits with rare performances—including Japanese versions of debut tracks—which left local fans both thrilled and teary-eyed.
Next Stop: Seoul
Following their hot summer streak, IVE is set to kick off their second world tour, IVE WORLD TOUR ‘SHOW WHAT I AM’, starting October 31 at the KSPO Dome in Seoul. Yes, more iconic visuals and crowd-slaying performances are on the way.
So Long Summer, Hello Icon Era
As Wonyoung bids farewell to summer with iconic visuals and fan love that crosses borders, one thing’s clear: no one exits a season quite as stylishly as she does. With IVE’s tour coming up, we’re just getting started.
