A K-pop Idol Turns Korean Teacher for One Night
Ever wished your bias could help you learn Korean? Your wish is coming true—at least if your bias is Jang Yeeun. The former CLC member and rising solo artist is hosting a one-of-a-kind online Korean language lesson on October 29, and it’s tailor-made for K-pop fans.
Introducing the ‘Fan Life × Korean Language’ Concept
This virtual event is part of K Village MODULY’s ongoing project series, combining fandom activities with Korean language learning. Yeeun steps in as a special guest instructor, giving fans a new way to connect with K-pop and the Korean language through what organizers call a “never-before-seen learning experience.”
According to recent polls, over 72.2% of learners said their interest in K-pop sparked their Korean studies. So rather than treating Korean as homework, this experience is designed as an “extension of stan life.” Think less grammar drills, more lyric decoding and fan chant phrases.
Jang Yeeun’s Journey from Idol to Educator
Jang Yeeun debuted in 2015 with girl group CLC and made her solo debut in 2023 with The Beginning. That same year, she gained more spotlight by competing on Mnet’s survival show Queendom Puzzle and joining EL7Z UP, a project group formed from the series.
Known for her charismatic stage presence and edgy rap skills, Yeeun’s also a frequent creator on social media. So it’s no surprise she’s bringing her full idol energy to the digital classroom—infusing pop culture into practical Korean phrases fans can actually use.

The 60-minute session includes:
- Useful Korean phrases fans can use during idols’ live streams and concerts
- K-pop lyric breakdowns (hello, pronunciation practice!)
- Live Q&A with Yeeun (questions gathered in advance)
