K-pop icon JISOO is once again making headlines—not just for her chart-topping music or acting, but for her heartfelt philanthropy. On May 29, JISOO donated 150 million KRW (approximately $110,000 USD) to the Korean Red Cross to support the restoration of wildfire-affected areas. Through her agency BLISSOO, she shared, “I hope this can provide some strength to firefighters and the residents affected.” She expressed her sadness over the charred forests, stating, “It was heartbreaking to see such beautiful nature disappear so quickly.”
This isn’t JISOO’s first time stepping up to help. Last year, she donated the entirety of her personal YouTube channel’s revenue to Save the Children, a global children’s rights NGO. “If my small actions can make a positive difference to someone, that makes me happy,” she commented.
Musically, JISOO recently released a new mini-album titled ‘AMORTAGE’ featuring the title track ‘earthquake’. The song is currently performing well on global music charts. As part of her promotional activities, she’s holding a fan meeting tour across seven Asian cities under the slogan ‘LIGHTS, LOVE, ACTION!’—strengthening her bond with fans worldwide.
Her success isn’t limited to music. On the acting front, JISOO took on the role of Young-joo in the recently aired Coupang Play series ‘Newtopia’, leaving a strong impression on viewers. She’s also set to appear in the upcoming film ‘Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint’, releasing this July, as well as the Netflix series ‘Monthly Boyfriend’. Commenting on her acting journey, JISOO said, “I feel happy when I can portray different characters through acting.”
