KickFlip Goes Global: Rookie K-pop Group Joins Lollapalooza and Summer Sonic 2025

Rookie boy group KickFlip is set to dominate the global stage this summer with performances at Lollapalooza, Summer Sonic, and TIMA 2025, proving they're more than just K-pop's next big thing.

From Debut Stage to Global Spotlight

JYP Entertainment’s rookie boy group KickFlip is proving they’re anything but ordinary. Just six months after dropping their debut, the seven-member crew is heading to some of the world’s biggest music festivals this August, kicking global K-pop fever into high gear.

Summer Tour: Lolla, Sonic, and More

First up? Lollapalooza Chicago on August 2. Held at Grant Park in Illinois, this legendary festival will be KickFlip’s official U.S. festival debut. But they’re not stopping there. They’re also set to perform at Summer Sonic 2025 in Japan—hitting Tokyo’s Makuhari Messe on August 16 and Osaka’s Expo ’70 Commemorative Park stage on August 17.

Then it’s a stop in Southeast Asia for Summer Sonic Bangkok on August 24 at the Impact Challenger Hall in Thailand. Just when you thought they couldn’t add more to their itinerary, the group also confirmed their participation at the 2025 TMELive International Music Awards (TIMA) in Macau on August 23, organized by China’s Tencent Music Entertainment Group.

Meet the Stage Kings in the Making

Members Gyehoon, Amaru, Donghwa, Juwang, Minje, Keiju, and Donghyun are earning a rep as performance powerhouses. TIMA 2025 is yet another feather in their cap, as the group continues to showcase their potential as the next generation of K-pop stage masters.

Chart Numbers That Matter

KickFlip isn’t just about hype—they’ve got the sales and rankings to back it up. Their debut EP ‘Flip it, Kick it!’ sold 276,881 copies in its first week, while their latest mini-album ‘Kick Out, Flip Now!’ surpassed that with 340,655 copies in opening week sales, according to Hanteo Chart.

And the critics are on board too. Billboard named their track ‘Umm Great’ from their first EP as one of the Top 25 K-pop Songs of 2025 (So Far), ranking it at No. 16. “KickFlip brings a fresh energy for a new generation of listeners,” Billboard praised, adding that the group “shows promise far beyond ‘Umm Great.’”

What’s Next for KickFlip?

With strong vocals, slick choreography, and a growing fanbase, KickFlip is shaping up to be more than just rookie idols—they may just be K-pop’s next global breakout. Whether you’re catching them live this summer or spinning their tracks on repeat, one thing’s clear: KickFlip is here to stay.
