MONSTA X’s Kihyun delivered a powerful solo performance at SOMEDAY PLEROMA 2025, captivating fans with his emotional vocals, lively wit, and diverse musical spectrum.

Kihyun Makes a Stunning Solo Appearance at SOMEDAY Festival

MONSTA X’s main vocalist, Kihyun, set the summer night ablaze with his electrifying presence at SOMEDAY PLEROMA 2025, held on June 28 at KINTEX in Ilsan. The event marked the start of SOMEDAY FESTIVAL’s 10th-anniversary celebrations, and Kihyun’s solo stage became a standout moment of the evening.

A Performance That Blended Power and Emotion

Kihyun kicked off his set with “VOYAGER,” the title track of his solo debut album, filling the venue with crisp band sounds and his soaring vocals. He followed it with fan-favorite tracks like “STARDUST” and “COMMA,” showcasing not only his vocal strength but also his confident stage presence.

Fan Interaction and Playful Humor

Keeping the energy high, Kihyun didn’t hesitate to connect with fans, affectionately known as Monbebe. At one point, he jokingly asked, “How many songs have I done?”, then answered himself, “Just one!” and added, “Even after six songs, it’s always ‘just one’.” His light-hearted quips drew laughter and created a warm festival atmosphere.

Surprising Covers and Broad Musical Range

Kihyun also took the audience by surprise with his renditions of MAX’s “Acid Dreams” and Christopher’s “Bad,” blending smooth groove with captivating expressions. He further touched hearts with an emotional cover of Choi Yuri’s “Forest,” followed by MONSTA X’s English single “SOMEONE’S SOMEONE” and the heartfelt “Bad Liar,” which was co-written by fellow member Hyungwon.

The versatile performer even channeled powerful vibes through “Cool Barn,” a track originally by the satirical group from MBC’s Infinite Challenge, proving his wide-ranging musical skills.

Warm Message to Fans

He ended with the inspiring “Youth,” from his solo mini-album, sharing a touching message: “Don’t hate yourself. Fighting!” The heartfelt words and impassioned final stage left many in the audience deeply moved.

Looking Back and Looking Ahead

Through his agency, Starship Entertainment, Kihyun reflected on the event: “Performing at any festival is always a joy, but being part of SOMEDAY PLEROMA, celebrating a decade of SOMEDAY FESTIVAL, made it even more meaningful—especially as MONSTA X also marks our 10th anniversary this year.” He added, “Thank you to Monbebe and the audience for your cheers. Please look forward to our concert this July!”
