K-pop artist and musical actor Kim Junsu reinterprets a classic Japanese ballad in his latest release for the Ribbon Project.

Kim Junsu Returns with Emotional Remake of Japanese Hit

K-pop star and musical theater actor Kim Junsu is lending his renowned vocals to a remake of a beloved ballad. On June 26 at 6 p.m. KST, he will release the song “I Thought About Dying” through major music streaming platforms as part of the Ribbon Project.

Breathing New Emotion into a Timeless Song

The track originally debuted in 2013 as the 38th single by Japanese singer Mikasa Nakashima, titled “Boku ga Shino to Omotta no wa”. Known for its autobiographical lyrics about the will to live, the song resonates through lines like: “I thought about dying because I hadn’t met you yet—but now that I have, I’ve come to like this world a little more.”

With his signature explosive yet tender vocals, Kim Junsu transforms the track’s message into an even deeper emotional journey. His heartfelt interpretation is expected to move listeners and showcase why he’s known as one of Korea’s top vocalists.

Kim Junsu’s Sparkling Career Across Stages

Junsu continues to prove his versatility, actively participating in various fields—from musicals and digital releases to TV appearances and OSTs. Already this year, he has starred in the musical “Aladdin”, released new singles like “The Twenty-First Season Will Wait for You”, and contributed to the K-drama “Moon in the Day” soundtrack.

In August, he is heading to Japan for the “XIA 2025 JAPAN FAN CONCERT: Journey to You”, reaffirming his global fanbase and enduring appeal overseas.
