Yuta Goes Full Rock Star at Japan’s Mega Festivals

NCT’s Yuta just made one thing crystal clear: he’s not just a pop idol, he’s a full-blown rock star. Over the weekend, Yuta shook up two of Japan’s biggest music festivals—ROCK IN JAPAN FESTIVAL 2025 in Chiba on July 20 and INAZUMA ROCK FES 2025 in Shiga the next day—bringing fiery performances and loads of personality to the stage.

Solo Debut, Stadium-Sized Energy

Leading with his electrifying Japanese solo debut track “Off The Mask”, Yuta proved he wasn’t just there for a cameo. The set had range—from the bright bop “When I’m Not Around” to the rhythmic “Save You”—each track drawing huge cheers from the festival crowds.

But that wasn’t all. Fans got an early taste of his upcoming solo album PERSONA, dropping October 26. Tracks like “New World”, “Two Of Us”, and the cheekily named “Possiboo-hoo” amped up the energy, ending on a high with the breezy, fan-favorite “BAD EUPHORIA”.

“I’m Taking That Energy With Me”

After wrapping both shows, Yuta shared his gratitude: “Meeting fans on so many different stages was pure joy. Seeing the audience vibing with my music gave me so much energy.” He even teased his motivation heading into his October tour, saying, “I want to create meaningful moments together.”

Instagram Moments Fans Can’t Stop Reposting

The day after the festivals, Yuta dropped a goldmine of content on Instagram. From casually flexing alongside J-pop newcomers IMP. and ISSUE to a fanboy-worthy shot with Japanese rock legend Takanori Nishikawa (yes, he played guitar during Yuta’s set), the post raked in instant reactions from fans worldwide.

What’s Next? Album Drop and Nationwide Tour

Yuta kicks off the YUTA LIVE TOUR 2025 -PERSONA- on October 2 in Tokyo, building up to his first full album’s release on October 26. Considering how explosive his festival stages were, you might want to set a reminder now.

More Than an Idol

Between rocking out beside legends and teasing a genre-blending solo album, Yuta’s proving that he’s carving out his own artistic lane—and fans are here for it.
