NEWBEAT, a seven-member K-pop boy group under Beat Interactive, has officially debuted with their first full-length album, ‘RAW AND RAD’. The group, consisting of Park Minseok, Hong Minseong, Jeon Yeoyeong, Choi Seohyun, Kim Taeyang, Jo Yunhoo, and Kim Riu, launched their album on June 24 at 6 PM KST across various online music platforms.
‘RAW AND RAD’ embodies the fearless passion of youth, featuring 11 tracks that highlight the group’s energy and authenticity. Key tracks include the pre-released songs ‘JeLLo (힘숨찐)’ and ‘HICCUPS’, alongside the title track ‘Flip the Coin’, ‘Intro: RAW AND RAD (feat. Khundi Panda) (Prod. Maalib)’, ‘Sounds like Money’, ‘너, 나 +,-‘, ‘F.L.Y (Prod. Im Hyunsik)’, ‘Wonder (Solo. Jeon Yeoyeong)’, ‘We Are Young’, ‘Outro: ZERO-SUM GAME (Prod. Maalib)’, and ‘Highs & Lows (Hi & Love)’.
The title track ‘Flip the Coin’ stands out for its old-school 90s hip-hop vibe, complemented by groovy drums and captivating samples. The lyrics explore the duality of life—good and evil existing like two sides of a coin—from the perspective of young dreamers. Production credits include Maalib, who worked on ‘RAW AND RAD’ and ‘ZERO-SUM GAME’, along with BTOB’s Im Hyunsik, who produced ‘F.L.Y’. Khundi Panda also contributed by featuring on the album’s intro track.
NEWBEAT is the first group launched by Beat Interactive in eight years and features members with an established presence in the industry. Notably, Park Minseok previously appeared on Mnet’s ‘Boys Planet’, while Jeon Yeoyeong was part of TO1. The group’s extensive pre-debut busking tours both in Korea and internationally have already helped them garner a strong global fanbase.
