NEWBEAT Takes Home First Award at K-WORLD DREAM AWARDS
Rookie K-pop group NEWBEAT (Park Minseok, Hong Minseong, Jeon Yeojeong, Choi Seohyun, Kim Taeyang, Jo Yunhoo, Kim Riu) lit up the stage on July 21 at the 2025 K-WORLD DREAM AWARDS, held at Jamsil Indoor Stadium in Seoul.
Marking their very first awards show appearance, the group took home the K-WORLD DREAM New Vision Award. “We’re honored to just be on this stage for the first time, and winning this meaningful award makes it all the more special,” they said in their acceptance speech. “We know we’re still growing, but we’re here thanks to fans who believed in us. Thank you!”
Debut Stage + Shirtless Surprise
After accepting their award, NEWBEAT performed their magnetic new digital single ‘Cappuccino’, wowing the crowd with razor-sharp choreography and fierce energy. The track, with its punchy old-school beat and addictive rap flow, highlighted the group’s emerging identity.
And just when the audience thought they’d seen it all, NEWBEAT stunned with a jaw-dropping shirtless finale that drew roars from the crowd and had MC Jeon Hyunmoo raving. Definitely not your average rookie set.
‘Cappuccino’ Builds on Their Expanding Musical World
‘Cappuccino‘ isn’t just a bop—it’s part of the story. The track is linked to NEWBEAT’s previously released lead single ‘JeLLo (Hidden Strength)’ from their debut album ‘RAW AND RAD’. With its old-school sound and cinematic vibe, it adds yet another layer to the universe the group is creating.
Fans first caught a taste of ‘Cappuccino’ during KCON LA 2025, where the surprise performance quickly made waves online. Safe to say, expectations are sky-high for what’s to come.
From Debut to ‘RAD-ical’ Rookie Domination
NEWBEAT officially debuted this March with their first full album, ‘RAW AND RAD’. Kicking things off with Mnet’s debut reality show ‘Drop the NEWBEAT’ and a splashy SBS fan showcase ‘Hidden Strength Live Lab’, the group has been on a fast track ever since.
From 2025 LOVESOME Festival to KCON JAPAN 2025, NEWBEAT has been steadily building a global fanbase, proving they can hold their own on both domestic and international stages.
What’s Next for NEWBEAT?
This breakout moment at the K-WORLD DREAM AWARDS feels like just the beginning. With charisma, sharp moves, and a clear musical identity, NEWBEAT is no longer just a rookie act to watch—they’re already making waves.
Will NEWBEAT redefine what a debut year looks like? The fandom is ready. The industry’s watching. And the beat? It’s only just started dropping.
