Rising Stars Take on Yeosu
NEWBEAT (members: Park Minseok, Hong Minsung, Jeon Yeoyeojung, Choi Seohyeon, Kim Taeyang, Jo Yunhoo, Kim Riu) will bring their electric live energy to the 2025 Yeosu K-Mega Island Festival on July 26. The festival takes place at the scenic Sky Tower section of the Yeosu Expo site—and it’s shaping up to be a can’t-miss K-culture celebration.
Kicking Off with ‘Flip the Coin’
The group plans to light up the stage with tracks from their debut album RAW AND RAD, including title track “Flip the Coin,” fan-favorite “We Are Young” in a rock band version, and high-octane performances of “Highs & Lows” and “JeLLo.” Expect plenty of synchronized choreography and signature Gen Z energy.
From Debut Show to Festival Mainstays
NEWBEAT officially entered the K-pop scene in March with their first full album. Their launch was anything but low-key—they debuted via Mnet’s survival-style program Drop the NEWBEAT and charmed audiences during SBS’s showcase series Hidden Charms Lab.
Since then, the group’s been hitting every major cultural stage: Lovesome Festival, Seoul Spring Festa, KCON JAPAN 2025, and MyK FESTA. Their lineup just keeps growing—and so does their fandom.
More Than Music: Giving Back
The Yeosu K-Mega Island Festival isn’t just about catchy choruses and flashy stages. It’s a cross-genre explosion of K-culture—from music to food—and part of its proceeds will go to community charities. Think Coachella meets charity gala, Korean-style.
What’s Next for NEWBEAT?
Mark your calendars—on August 5, the group will drop their digital single “Cappuccino”. And there’s more brewing: they’re set to release a new album later this year.
Rookie no more, NEWBEAT is quickly shaping up to be one of K-pop’s must-watch acts. If 2024 was their intro, 2025 might just be their breakout year.
