NiziU Kicks Off Hong Kong Show with Excitement and Emotion
JYP Entertainment’s girl group NiziU recently held their first-ever solo concert in Hong Kong under the title ‘2025 NiziU FAN-CON ーNiziUniverseー in Hong Kong’. The event took place on June 21 at AsiaWorld-Expo Runway 11, and marked the group’s return to overseas performances after about a year and four months since their Taipei concert in February 2024.
A Vibrant Showcase of Hit Songs and Special Performances
The show opened with the group’s signature track “Take a picture”, sending fans into a frenzy. From there, NiziU demonstrated their versatility with songs like “SWEET NONFICTION”, “YOAKE”, “RISE UP”, “CLAP CLAP”, and “LOVE LINE –Japanese ver.–”. They also performed “만약이라는 건 없어 (What if)”, further showcasing their emotional range.
One of the most memorable moments was the first-ever live performance of “Shining day”, a track featured in their cosmetics ad with suisai. Another highlight was a surprise cover of the local Hong Kong girl group Lolly Talk’s hit song “三分甜”—a gesture that had the local audience cheering wildly.
Close Connection with Fans and Multilingual Communication
NiziU didn’t hold back on fan service either. A variety of games, talk segments, and interactive events added a playful charm throughout the evening. Members warmly engaged with fans in different languages, with Rima and Nina speaking in English and others offering greetings in Cantonese. Leader Mako shared, “I’ve been looking forward to this day. It’s truly a joy to hold our first Hong Kong concert in such a beautiful place and meet so many WithU [official fan club name] in person.”
Encore, Emotions, and Looking Ahead
The group closed the main set with “AlwayS”, as well as the pre-debut track “Make you happy” and the musical-esque “Love & Like”. For the encore, they performed their debut hit “Step and a step” and dedicated fan song “Need U”, delivering a heartfelt end to an emotional night.
With their influence growing across Korea, Japan, and global audiences, NiziU is gearing up for an ambitious Japanese arena tour starting in September. With 32 shows across 21 cities, ‘NiziU Live with U 2025’ and ‘NiziU Live with U 2026’ are set to be the group’s largest tour yet.
