NOWZ Sparks Youthful Energy in Their Debut
Rookie K-pop boy group NOWZ, under Cube Entertainment, has officially entered the music scene with the release of their first mini album ‘IGNITION’ on July 9 through major online music platforms.
This debut album marks a new beginning for NOWZ, capturing the fiercely passionate and vibrant moments of youth. Composed of five tracks centered around the title song ‘EVERGLOW’, the album symbolizes the ignition of their musical journey and inner fire.
‘EVERGLOW’: An Anthem of Unstoppable Dreams
‘EVERGLOW’ is a powerful alternative rock track blending electric guitar riffs with metallic sounds. The song delivers a bold message: “Like a flame that won’t die even in ashes, we will never fade.” It encapsulates NOWZ’s determination to pursue their dreams, radiating an intensity that sets them apart.
Led by renowned producer El Capitxn, members Jinhyuk and Siyoon participated in the rap-making, further adding authenticity. The accompanying music video serves as a metaphorical journey through a dystopian world in search of hope, aligning with the track’s youthful defiance and dreams.
A Genre Spectrum That Highlights Growth
IGNITION features a wide range of genres that display NOWZ’s versatility. The pre-release single ‘Fly Free (Feat. Yuqi)’, written, composed, and featuring (G)I-DLE’s Yuqi, is a Cinematic Soul Pop track that blends lyrical emotion with summery freshness.
The track ‘Problem Child’ boldly embraces individuality with punchy drum patterns and addictive hooks, encouraging listeners to stand true to themselves. Dance-pop track ‘Louder’ explodes with energetic synths and springy guitars, while ‘DAY_AND’, the group’s first fan song, combines upbeat rhythms with sentimental lyrics to express gratitude to their fans.
NOWZ Seeks to Redefine Itself on Their 1st Anniversary
Celebrating their first debut anniversary, NOWZ recently unveiled a rebranding that includes a name change, signaling a renewed identity. As implied by their new name—which means “drawing endless possibilities in the moment”—NOWZ aims to redefine themselves with ‘IGNITION’ and grow into one of the next big names in Hallyu.
Despite being rookies, NOWZ has already impressed both fans and industry watchers with their strong vocals and stage presence. Their debut mini album not only showcases their artistic range but also signals their ascent as rising stars of the ‘Zalpha’ generation in K-pop.
