Woozi Begins Active Duty on September 15

SEVENTEEN’s musical genius, Woozi, has officially enlisted in the South Korean military. On September 15, the 27-year-old artist began his mandatory service as an active-duty soldier in the army, becoming the third SEVENTEEN member to do so, following Jeonghan and Wonwoo.

One Last Concert Before Duty Calls

Before heading off to fulfill his national duty, Woozi made a surprise appearance at SEVENTEEN’s “WORLD TOUR -NEW- IN INCHEON,” held at Incheon Asiad Main Stadium on September 13 and 14. But this time, he wasn’t on stage—he watched from the crowd.

“It was the first time I’ve seen the members and CARATs cheering together from the outside, with the music I created. I felt so happy,” Woozi shared on Weverse, the fan platform. “I’m filled with energy. I’ll be back healthy. Thank you.”

SEVENTEEN’s Lineup Shifts with Enlistments

As part of South Korea’s mandatory military service, all able-bodied men are required to serve, typically for 18 months. Woozi’s enlistment marks a new chapter, as SEVENTEEN adapts to ongoing lineup changes. Jeonghan entered the military last September, followed by Wonwoo in April. Woozi is now the group’s third member to enlist—and Hoshi is expected to join him shortly after.

With several members now enlisted, SEVENTEEN still continues strong, supported by a fiercely loyal fandom and a music catalog packed with hits, many of which were penned by Woozi himself.

A New Journey Begins

Even as he trades stages for barracks, Woozi’s creative legacy in SEVENTEEN is far from paused. Fans are already counting down the days until he returns—and if his message is anything to go by, he’ll be back stronger and smiling.
