SEVENTEEN members Hoshi and Woozi have come together to form a special unit, preparing a unique musical gift for their fans. Their first single, BEAM, is set to be released on March 10 at 6 PM KST, featuring a total of three tracks, including the title song, Same Age Friends (동갑내기).
Born in 1996, Hoshi and Woozi share not only a close friendship but also a deep musical collaboration, which is reflected in this new album. According to their agency, Pledis Entertainment, the duo actively participated in writing and composing Same Age Friends, incorporating their personal stories into the song. As the leaders of SEVENTEEN’s performance and vocal teams, respectively, they are expected to further establish their presence as the representatives of the ‘96-liner’ generation through this unit project.
The first track of the album, Pinocchio, was written by Hoshi, with Woozi contributing to both the lyrics and composition. Notably, Hwang Soyoon, the frontwoman of the band SE SO NEON and a solo artist, features on the track, adding to its charm. Hwang has previously collaborated with artists such as BTS’s RM and Silica Gel, raising anticipation for this new project.
For the final track, Stupid Idiot, Hoshi and Woozi co-created the melody and lyrics. Renowned producer Bumzu, who has worked on many of SEVENTEEN’s hit songs, participated in the production of all tracks, enhancing the album’s overall quality. BEAM is expected to showcase the duo’s individuality and self-expression in various creative ways, offering SEVENTEEN fans a fresh and heartfelt experience.
